For more than sixty years more than 350 water management, hydropower and engineering constructions throughout Slovakia have been associated with the state enterprise Vodohospodárska výstavba.
However, the company's name is mainly associated with one of the largest water management projects in Europe - the Gabčíkovo Waterworks. The Žilina Waterworks is also of considerable importance.
The company manages these hydropower works and ensures their efficient and safe operation as well as the production and sale of electricity. The long tradition in the construction of hydroelectric waterworks is a solid basis for the further development of the company.
Vodohospodárska výstavba, state enterprise, has been one of the most important guarantors and investors of the construction of water structures in Slovakia for more than half a century. It operates the Gabčíkovo Waterworks, which enables international navigation on the Danube River, ensures flood protection and the production of environmentally clean energy, as well as the Žilina Waterworks on the Váh River. This makes it one of the most important water management entities in Central Europe.
Vodohospodárska výstavba, state enterprise, is a sectoral organization of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic. Its mission is to manage water management activities professionally, responsibly, and transparently, while respecting the principles of environmental protection and sustainable development for future generations as well as for the prosperity of society.
